Thus says the Lord: if you receive my words and treasure my commands within you, if you incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound 

wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and protecting the way of his faithful ones.

Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and equity—every good path.

Wisdom will fill your heart, and knowledge will bring joy to your soul; discretion will watch over you, and understanding will protect you, to save you from the path of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, and from those who leave the right way to walk in darkness; who take pleasure in doing evil and delight in perversity— their paths are crooked, and their ways are devious. To save you from the adulterous woman, from the loose woman with her seductive words, who forsakes her youth and forgets her God’s covenant; for her house leads to death, and her paths lead to the realm of the dead. No one who goes to her returns, nor do they find the way to life.

So you will walk in the way of the good, and stay on the paths of the righteous. For the upright will inhabit the land, and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted from it.
