Deep within my heart, an oracle from God speaks regarding the rebellion of the wicked: They have utterly cast away the fear of God from their eyes. In their blind self-conceit, they flatter themselves too much to detect or detest their own guilt.
Deceit and malice flow from their lips; they have abandoned all wisdom and ceased to do what is right.
Even as they lie awake in bed, they devise wicked schemes; they commit themselves to a path that is not good, refusing to reject evil.
Yet Your loyal love, Lord, towers to the heavens, and Your faithfulness stretches to the very clouds.
Your righteousness stands firm like the mighty mountains, Your judgments are profound like the great ocean. You, Lord, preserve and sustain both human and beast.
How precious is Your constant love, O God! In the shadow of Your wings, mankind finds refuge.
